Waterfall asceticism

A traditional form of ascetic training is to stand beneath a waterfall while reciting mantras and sutras. There are two waterfalls on Mount Takao where people can do this, Ja-taki and Biwa-taki. Practitioners must wear the white clothes of ascetics. This is available on the following days, though it is advisable to phone beforehand to check times.
